Regional Input needed on regional disparity study

SANDAG, San Diego Metropolitan Transportation System (MTS), Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), and the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA or “Metrolink”), are conducting a Southern California Regional Disparity Study. The disparity study includes experiences of vendors and contractors and whether or not there is evidence of discrimination based on race, gender or ethnicity in the transportation contracting industry. The above agencies will review this information as they consider future implementation of the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program on Federal Transit Administration funded contracts.

  The Public Forums will offer the opportunity to share personal experiences and other information related to implementation of the Federal Transit Administration DBE Program, whether or not there is discrimination affecting contracting in the transportation industry. Persons unable to attend a Public Forum may submit written testimony to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). The deadline for submitting written testimony is 5 p.m. on November 10, 2009. Please include the following in the subject line “SANDAG 2009 FTA Disparity Study Testimony.”
