Dear Students,
Most of you have registered and now have a Senior Sequence class web site account. Great, thank you. If you
haven’t registered yet, please do so before today’s class. It only takes a minute or two. The registration
link is on the upper right hand side of our class web site: http://www.seniorsequence.net/index.php
Once you’ve registered and have an account, the next step before today’s class is to (1) select an area of
concentration for your research, and (2) post a tentative title for your project. If you don’t have a clue
yet, don’t worry. Make something up. Its easy to change. The best way to get ideas for research is to review
the internship database: http://www.seniorsequence.net/index.php/ipl/list/ (requires log in: see details sent
to our ucsd email account).
Most of the entries have a strong research component; the placements are thus very good platforms/anchors for
your senior research. To approach an internship provider for an interview, see the instructions we have on
the class web site at: http://www.seniorsequence.net/index.php/186/assignments/
Please take the time to watch the “Control Panel” tutorial on our class web site. It will show you how to
“publish” and “edit” stuff in your portfolio. Note: you only publish your portfolio one time! Once you
publish it, then you can make changes/improve it through the edit function. Please be sure you know the
difference between publish and edit. The Control Panel tutorial tells all at:
http://www.seniorsequence.net/index.php/tutorials/intro/
I am excited to work with you all,
Keith
