• Research reports on local climate change impacts that affect community plan policies (land use, transportation, green building). The San Diego Foundation has started to research local climate change impacts and adaptation. Draft language that could possibly be used in community plan updates regarding impacts, adaptation, and mitigation.
• Public Outreach – work on broadening public input using technology and web-based strategies as well as consider new low-tech methods to reach underrepresented groups.
• Research latest studies on environmental impacts of compact development v. lower density development with respect to water use, GHG emissions, vehicle miles traveled, etc. How can these reduced impacts be reflected in CEQA documents, which focus on localized impacts?
