OpenOceans Global gathers data for its work to bring together ocean data and information in a new and more visual way. A student researcher could participate in this effort by engaging in a project that would identify the world’s oceanographic research institutions, the government agencies managing the ocean’s resources, the non-profit organizations dedicated to ocean issues, and the associations representing ocean industries that profit from the ocean. The resulting report could analyze how these organizations interact to create the mix of ocean policies that guide ocean use and protection.
